Whats inside the Beast?

Interior (skip this if you don't like being technical)

This section deals with whats under the bonnet of the N8 hardware wise..

The N8 Motherboard.
Firstly and most importantly is the CPU,now when many of you read this at first you going to be disappointed but please carry on reading so I can explain a few things. The N8 uses an ARM 11 680Mhz processor , and there we go thinking oh no it's going to be slow, but you are wrong. This processor is coupled with an individual GPU (Broadcom BCM2727) allowing 3D acceleration.

Now while the N8 will break no Speed records the two processors combine to make the N8 swift and hardly any lag in normal use. To me this is truely amazing as Not only does it have a Processor 300Mhz short of what the main competition has ( The HTC Desire has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1Ghz) but it also offers full multitasking using any app and still manages to handle the usage well. Next is the RAM which comes in at 256mb..Again half of what most top end Android phones use at 512mb to 576mb (HTC Desire) this may lead you to think that the N8 will have limited multitasking ability but my own stress tests have shown differently.

I Have performed two tests, the first using Nokia onboard apps only and went up to 21 applications with no lag..when I ran out of usefull applications to open. The next test showed more insight as I tried to use both Nokia Apps and 3rd Party Apps but looked for the most memory intensive eg. Nokia Maps, Opera Mobile ,Opera Mini etc. And i got up to 20 Apps when i saw some visable lag amd remaining memory down to 16Mb.For me that is more than enough considering that all apps work in the background. The N8 boots with - +140mb free and I've only seen it go down as far as 80 mb free after a few days usage which may be due to memory leaks or 3rd party Applications a installed.

Thats it for the internals..ofcoarse there's a long list of bits and chips I can List but these are the Important numbers you need to know.
